Belgium parliamentary committee slams Azeri aggression in Karabakh![]() December 3, 2020 - 10:55 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Foreign Affairs Commission of the Belgian Federal Parliament has approved a resolution condemning the "aggression of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Nagorno-Karabakh" and calling for "an early determination of the final status" of the region, TASS reports. According to the resolution approved on Wednesday, December 2, "the ceasefire agreement of November 9 has not solved serious problems in the region." The lawmakers condemned "the aggression of Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh with the support of Turkey and foreign mercenaries." They also call for the withdrawal of Azerbaijani forces from Nagorno-Karabakh and a return to negotiations on the status of the region within the OSCE Minsk Group. In addition, the MPs called for doing everything so that Turkey no longer interferes and "ceases to play a destabilizing role" in Karabakh. They also believe that an international presence is necessary in Karabakh, including "to assist in maintaining peace and investigating war crimes." They also call on the Belgian government, together with the European Union, to provide humanitarian assistance to the Karabakh refugees. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days.
