Armenia PM brushes off rumors of his resignation

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday, December 14 weighed in on rumors and media reports alleging his resignation, saying that he will step down as the head of Armenia's government as soon as he gets "credible expression of the nation's will."

"Rumors about my resignation are spreading constantly, whereas I have clearly declared that I can renounce the status given to me by the nation only on the basis of a reliable expression of the will of the people," Pashinyan said in a live address.

"In the absence of such an expression of will, I will continue to perform my duties as Prime Minister honestly."

According to him, the dissemination of "fake and half-fake" information is "to deepen anxiety among the people, to create panic." He said the government's key priority now is to stabilize the security environment around Armenia.
