PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday, January 6.

The two discussed the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh following the war unleashed by Azerbaijan and the ways to overcome challenges facing the region. The PM thanked the French President for his thoughtfulness and support provided during "these challenging times for the Armenian people", Pashinyan's office said.

Pashinyan and Macron weighed in on a number of issues related to the agenda of the Armenian-French relations and the development of economic cooperation.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
