"May our Friday be blessed, my dear brother/sister," captioned the photo on social media. In Muslim faith, Friday is designated a sacred day of worship in a chapter called “Al-Jumah,” meaning the day of congregation, which is also the word for Friday in Arabic. A great number of Christian churches have been converted into mosques throughout Turkey's history, including the iconic Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, the Chora church, the Holy Mother of God Church in Gaziantep, to name a few.
