Georgia resuming regular air travel with Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Beginning from February 1, Georgia has removed restrictions on regular air traffic to 12 countries, including Armenia, the country's civil aviation authority reports.

Restrictions were imposed in early March to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the country.

Two flights a week - on Wednesdays and Sundays - will operate from the Georgian capital to Yerevan, Armenia. Flights set for February 3 and 7, however, will be rescheduled on February 5.

In addition to Armenia, Georgian travelers can now fly to Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, France, Austria, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus, the Civil Aviation Agency said.

In Georgia, the process of the gradual recovery of regular air traffic began in August 2020. Flights have been resumed to Munich, Riga and Paris. Since November, regular air services to Amsterdam, Vienna, Berlin and Doha (charter flights on these destinations were performed until November) have also been resumed. Along with that, charter flights to Istanbul, Athens, Warsaw, Kiev, Minsk and Tel Aviv are scheduled.
