Pashinyan: IT turnover in Armenia jumped 20% in 2020February 5, 2021 - 11:19 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The turnover of companies in the field of information technologies in Armenia grew by 20% to reach $400 million, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Almaty Digital Forum 2021 in Kazakhstan on Thursday, February 4. The Armenian PM also noted that the sphere of advanced and digital technologies is the fastest growing sector of economy in the country. In 2020, he added, the number of employees in that industry increased by 22%. "At the moment, more than 1200 IT companies are registered and working in our country. Substantial tax benefits are provided to them in accordance with the policy pursued by the Armenian government in this sector," Pashinyan said. According to him, digitalization, innovation and advanced technologies are viewed by the Armenian government as an essential tool for creating an effective public administration system, a favorable business environment and ensuring progressive economic growth.
