Karabakh readies statement on status of territories under Azeri control![]() February 24, 2021 - 18:20 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Foreign Relations Standing Committee of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) National Assembly met Tuesday, February 24 to discuss the text of a proposed statement "On the legal status of territories of the Republic of Artsakh under the control of Azerbaijan”. After the approval of the agenda of the meeting, the head of the parliamentary bloc of the Democratic Party of Artsakh, David Melkumyan, unveiled the text of the statement. The lawmakers proposed making some amendments in the text, which were accepted by the author. The Commission unanimously voted in favor of the statement and gave a positive conclusion. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
