Armenia planning to increase science funding by AMD 2.7 billion

PanARMENIAN.Net - The government intends to increase funding for science by AMD 2.7 billion ($5.1 million), Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Vahram Dumanyan said on Monday, March 22.

The Minister stressed the additional funds will provided in 2021.

An initiative called Gituzh (Power of Science) was created in Armenia in February 2021 to demand that the government increase science funding in the country. In 2020, the financing of the sphere amounted to some AMD 14 billion ($26.5 million).
