  Putin, Macron tease "concrete" Karabakh initiatives soon April 27, 2021 - 15:08 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian and French Presidents Vladimir Putin and Emmanuel Macron have agreed to work on "concrete initiatives" on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, according to information provided by the Élysée Palace. In a phone conversation with Putin on Monday, April 26 evening, Macron stressed the "need to make concrete progress on the issue of prisoners of war, humanitarian support and the preservation of heritage" in Artsakh (Karabakh). "The two presidents decided to re-launch efforts within the [OSCE] Minsk Group to achieve a lasting settlement of the situation" and agreed that "concrete initiatives will be taken in this direction in the coming days", the French presidency noted. According to a press release from the Kremlin, the two leaders highlighted that the situation in the region remains calm. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev on November 9 signed a statement to end the war in Karabakh after almost 45 days. Under the deal, the Armenian side has returned all the seven regions surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh, having lost a part of Karabakh itself in hostilities.
