  European Parliament discussing report on TurkeyMarch 11, 2009 - 22:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - European Parliament opened discussions of draft report on Turkey prepared by Ms. Ria Oomen-Ruijten.Majority of MEPs called on the Turkish government to address gaps in Ergenekon case, Milliyet reports. Earlier, Ria Oomen-Ruijten said Armenian lobbyists threatened to destroy her career because she refused to regard the 1915 events as Genocide. She said Armenians told her that "they will do their best to prevent her re-election to the European Parliament." Vowing that she would work hard to keep her report as it was, she said, "I will never step away. If I am convinced that the document is good for both Turks and Armenians, then I will keep the report as it is."
