Karabakh Security Council denies rumors about Azeris' advancement

PanARMENIAN.Net - Rumors that the Azerbaijani armed forces have advanced into the territory of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), including from the direction of Karvachar (Kelbajar), are no true, the press service of the Artsakh Security Council reports.

The Artsakh Security Council said the country, in cooperation with the Russian peacekeeping contingent, fully controls the ceasefire and the line of contact to ensure a secure environment for the people of Karabakh.

“We once again urge the media to refrain from amateur discussions on military topics, so as not to cause concern among the population, and follow only official information,” the Security Council added.

On the morning of May 12, the armed forces of Azerbaijan violated the border of Armenia in the southern province of Syunik, advancing 3.5 kilometers and surrounding Sev Lake, which is situated on the border between the two countries but is predominantly a part of Armenia. On May 13, the Azerbaijani military committed more border violations against Armenia, advancing near Vardenis (Gegharkunik province) and Sisian (Syunik province).
