200 Israelis visit Armenian Quarter to apologize for attack on priests![]() May 24, 2021 - 14:44 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - About 200 Israelis from different NGOs and other organizations on Sunday, May 23 visited the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem and met with Rev. Fr. Tiran Hakobyan and Rev. Fr. Arbak Sarukhanyan, who were recently attacked by young religious Israeli extremists, Father Koryoun Hovnan Baghdasaryan said in a Facebook post. During the meeting they apologized and expressed their solidarity with the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Armenian community of the Holy Land. Baghdasarian, the Chancellor at Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, said earlier that Sarukhanyan was injured when he was attacked in mid-May by group of young Jews when walking toward the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. He was rushed to hospital and was discharged after receiving treatment. The Patriarchate filed a formal complaint with the police, after which three of the attackers were arrested. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
