Biden says ready to help Karabakh sides reach political settlement

PanARMENIAN.Net - The United States remain committed to helping the Nagorno-Karabakh sides negotiate a long-term political settlement of the conflict, President Joe Biden said in a congratulatory letter to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Republic Day.

Biden's comments come amid Aliyev's declarations that his country has settled the conflict militarily and that there is no conflict left to be resolved any more.

"After a year marked by conflict and the coronavirus pandemic, it is my sincere hope that Azerbaijan emerges from these challenges a more prosperous nation that respects the human rights and fundamental freedoms of its people and lives at peace with its neighbors," Biden's letter said.
