On March 15, the Armenian National Congress has nominated its leader, Armenia's first President Levon Ter-Petrosyan, as the top candidate for the post of Mayor of Yerevan. "Taking into account the key role of the Mayor of Yerevan in political and economic life of the Republic of Armenia, the ANC took the decision to nominate Levon Ter-Petrosyan as the top candidate for the post," the ANC said in a statement.
