Embassy tells U.S. citizens to exercise vigilance in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The U.S. Embassy in Armenia has urged American citizens to exercise vigilance, avoid crowds, and remain alert and aware of their surroundings at all times.

"Over the next two weeks, demonstrations or rallies related to elections may take place in Yerevan and other locations throughout Armenia," the Embassy said in a fresh demonstration alert.

The U.S. citizens were further encouraged to monitor local media for updates, avoid crowds and demonstrations and notify friends and family of their safety.

Armenia is readying for snap parliamentary elections on June 20.
