Elections: 49.4% voter turnout reported in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nationwide elections to the Armenian parliament wrapped on Sunday, June 20 evening, with voter turnout at 49.4%, the Central Electoral Commission reports, which is slightly higher than the 48.63% in 2018 but much lower from the 60.86% turnout in 2017.

1,281,174 eligible voters cast their ballots in elections triggered after the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh). Voter turnout stood at 51.55% in the capital, Yerevan.

The first results are expected in the coming hours.
