Armenia's Gevorg Avanesyan wins Int'l Biology Olympiad silver![]() July 27, 2021 - 12:10 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia student Gevorg Avanesyan has won a silver medal in the thirty-second International Biology Olympiad (IBO) 2021, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport reports. Organized and hosted by Portugal, the Olympiad was held online from July 18 to July 23. Over 304 students from 76 countries participated in the event. Arman Hayrapetyan, Vahe Gabrielyan and Astghik Harutyunyan, also representing Armenia, participated in the competition. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan.
