Armenia thwarts Azerbaijan's attempt to violate its airspace![]() August 4, 2021 - 14:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The air defense forces of the Armenian army on Wednesday, August 4 thwarted the attempt of an Azerbaijani drone to violate the airspace of Armenia, the Defense Ministry reports. According to official information, the incident happened at around 11:00 am. Similar attempts have been made in the past as well, with the Armenian side even publishing images from downed UAVs. Azerbaijani forces violated Armenia’s border in several sections in the provinces of Syunik and Gegharkunik on May 12 and 13 and are still refusing to withdraw their troops from the area. Five Armenian servicemen have been killed in Azerbaijan’s shooting, a dozen others have been wounded, while six troops were captured on May 27, although four of them have already returned home. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
