CSTO chief expects Armenia's chairmanship will boost stability

PanARMENIAN.Net - CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas expects that Armenia's upcoming chairmanship in the organization will help increase stability and security in the Eurasian space.

Zas made the remarks in a congratulatory message he sent to Nikol Pashinyan on his appointment as Armenia's Prime Minister, Pashinyan office reveals.

"The results of the parliamentary elections testify to the support of the Armenian society for your path towards further reforms in the political, economic and social spheres," Zas noted.

"We highly appreciate the contribution of the Republic of Armenia to the activities of the CSTO and hope that its upcoming chairmanship in the CSTO will contribute to increasing stability and security in the Eurasian space."

Armenia will assume the CSTO chairmanship on September 16, "with all the ensuing consequences", lawmaker Ruben Rubinyan from the ruling Civil Contract party said in late July.
