Armenia confirms Russian troops deployed in border Tavush village

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Defense Ministry on Thursday, August 5 confirmed media reports that Russian troops have been deployed in the border village of Voskepar in Armenia's Tavush province.

"Construction work is underway to ensure the rear facilities of the border guards. This process is carried out on the sidelines of Armenian-Russian cooperation," the Ministry said.

Also Thursday, Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan "gave strict instructions" to rule out any attempt by Azerbaijan to advance into the country or improve their positions.
