CSTO chief arrives in Armenia on working visit

PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Stanislav Zas on Monday, August 9 arrived in Armenia on a working visit to meet with the top political and military leadership of the country, the organization reveals.

On August 9-10, he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Acting Foreign Minister Armen Grigoryan and Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan.

In the course of the meetings, Zas will inform the Armenian side about the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility, as well as about the preparation for the next session of the Collective Security Council.

lawmaker Ruben Rubinyan from the ruling Civil Contract party said in late July that Armenia will assume the CSTO chairmanship on September 16, "with all the ensuing consequences".
