Alfred Kocharyan, the acting chairman of the Tourism Committee, also participated in the meeting. Prospects and ways of cooperation with Lufthansa and Armenia's priorities in the tourism sector were discussed during the meeting in Yerevan on Thursday, August 12. Emphasizing the importance of boosting Armenia-Germany business ties, Kerobyan noted that there are great opportunities and prospects for the development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism. Introducing the potential tourism markets for Armenia, he stressed the state policy of putting quality first in that sector. The Minister weighed in on the possibility of securing tourist flows from Germany to Armenia, exchanged views with the company's representatives on the arrangement of joint marketing campaigns. The representatives of Lufthansa said Armenia is a popular tourist destination among German travelers, therefore they are interested in using the opportunity to bring tourists to Armenia, as well cooperate in organizing and implementing said marketing campaigns. Kocharyan noted, in turn, that German market interests Armenia, therefore a familiarization trip with the involvement of more than 60 German tour agencies will be held in Armenia in late August.
