Minister Vahram Dumanyan on Monday, August 30 hosted the athletes and their coaches and wished them success ahead of the games slated for September 4-11. "I want you to be able to give positive emotions to our nation, which we need a lot today," he said. Deputy Minister Karen Giloyan too was participating in the meeting. According to him, Armenia will be represented at the CIS games with a rather respectable delegation. Giloyan promised that the Armenian squad will return with medals. Armenia earlier competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
