Serbia arrests North Macedonian diplomat on Armenia's request

PanARMENIAN.Net - The law enforcement bodies of Serbia, on the basis of an international arrest warrant from Armenian authorities, have detained the deputy head of the North Macedonian mission to the OSCE in Vienna Mila Milenkovski, TASS said citing a report from Alsat-M, a North Macedonian TV channel.

Milenkovski was detained back on August 27 when crossing the border to North Macedonia. However, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the news only on Friday, September 3.

According to the TV channel, the Serbian authorities acted in accordance with the request of the Armenian side, which is investigating a case, in which Milenkovsky is one of the defendants.

According to Armenian law enforcement agencies, in 2018, three diplomats from North Macedonia, led by Milenkovski, evacuated from Armenia a representative of the country's former government, accused of embezzling a large sum of money.
