Blinken encourages substantive negotiations on Karabakh ASAP![]() September 4, 2021 - 13:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The United States encourages reengagement in substantive negotiations over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the auspices of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs as soon as possible, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement on the appointment of Ararat Mirzoyan as Armenia's new Foreign Minister. As a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Blinken said, America remains committed to working with the Armenian side to support a comprehensive and sustainable political settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "The United States has a longstanding commitment to supporting the Armenian people's democratic aspirations, and we look forward to cooperating with you to forge stronger bilateral ties based on our shared democratic values," Blinken said. "The United States is a partner in your government's efforts to strengthen the rule of law, combat corruption, and bolster democratic institutions, while respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms.
