Top lawmaker urges public to assist army in engineering work

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Armenian parliament's Standing Committee on Security and Defense, lawmaker from the ruling Civil Contract party Andranik Kocharyan has urged the public to help the army in engineering work along the border.

"I think that some sections of the society, such as students and others, who say that they are standing by the army... could take up tools and take part in some engineering work so that our servicemen can focus on performing their tasks," Kocharyan said, according A1+.

The MP added that the members of the working group of the Defense Committee recently visited the eastern part of the border.

Armenia's borders with Azerbaijan are longer than they used to be, following the 44-day war unleashed by the latter against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in fall 2020. Since then, there is virtually no border between Armenia and Artsakh. except for a corridor provided by Azerbaijan under the terms of the ceasefire statement.
