MEP demands PACE suspend Azerbaijan's mandate

PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, lawmaker Hayk Mamijanyan from the opposition "I have the Honor" bloc has demanded that PACE suspend the mandate of the Azerbaijani delegation to the organization.

Mamijanyan said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, November 16 that he participated in the PACE Monitoring Committee and briefed his European colleagues on the situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border.

Local battles are underway on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the situation continues to remain extremely tense, the Armenian Defense Ministry said meanwhile. Four Armenian servicemen were injured in the fresh flare-up, while information about possible deaths and other injuries is being clarified.

Azerbaijan launched a new provocation in the province of Syunik on Tuesday, shelling the Armenian positions at the same time, the Defense Ministry reported earlier. The Armenian side has opened retaliatory fire to hinder the Azerbaijani military's advancement.
