OSCE chief welcomes Armenia-Azerbaijan ceasefire

PanARMENIAN.Net - OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ann Linde has welcomed a Russia-brokered ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan, after the latter launched a new offensive in the southern section of the border between the two countries on November 19.

"Spoke to Armenian [Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan], welcome ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan after Russian mediation and called for de-escalation," Linde wrote on Twitter.

"Deep regret for loss of lives. Reiterated support for continued process through Minsk Group Co-Chairs and my Personal Representative."

In clashes launched by Azerbaijan on November 16, the Armenian side has confirmed the death of 2 servicemen, while 13 others have been captured by Azerbaijan. Two combat positions too have gone under the control of Azeri forces, 24 Armenian troops have gone missing.
