Armenia says Russia's proposals for demarcation "acceptable"![]() November 18, 2021 - 14:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The proposals of the Russian Defense Ministry on the demarcation of the border with Azerbaijan are acceptable to Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a government meeting on Thursday, November 18. Pashinyan told lawmakers on Wednesday that three proposals have been made by the Russian side on the delimitation and demarcation between Armenia and Azerbaijan. All of them, he said, were and remain acceptable for Armenia. "Yesterday, after my statement, the Russian Defense Ministry came up with proposals on the preparatory stage of demarcation and delimitation. And I want to confirm that these proposals are acceptable to us," Pashinyan said Thursday. Pashinyan instructed Defense Minister Suren Papikyan to clarify the details with his Russian counterpart in order to try to implement these proposals. Azerbaijani forces violated Armenia’s border in several sections in the provinces of Syunik and Gegharkunik on May 12 and 13 and are still refusing to withdraw their troops from the area. Since then, almost a dozen Armenian servicemen have been killed in Azerbaijan’s shooting, a dozen others have been wounded. In clashes launched by Azerbaijan on November 16, the Armenian side has confirmed the death of 2 servicemen, while 13 others have been captured by Azerbaijan. Two combat positions too have gone under the control of Azeri forces, 24 Armenian troops have gone missing. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
