Yerevan: Several Armenians want to be evacuated from Kazakhstan![]() January 11, 2022 - 13:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Several Armenian citizens have asked Yerevan's Embassy in Nur-Sultan to help them leave the territory of Kazakhstan, given the situation in the country, Armenian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan has said. Hunanyan revealed that "two-three people" have expressed a wish to leave Kazakhstan but they don't want to return to Armenia. The spokesperson added that the authorities have no intention to evacuate Armenian citizens from Kazakhstan on a large scale. Demonstrations in Kazakhstan started in early January when a protest against a fuel price rise began. They developed into a wider protest against Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's government and the influence of the former president, 81-year-old Nursultan Nazarbayev. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
