Pashinyan wants harmony between political majority and next president

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Monday, January 24 that he learned about President Armen Sarkissian's resignation several hours before a statement was published on Sunday. According to the Premier, there has to be harmony between the new president and the political majority.

"I wanted to understand whether the decision is subject to discussion or not. I asked if he was discussing the issue with me or informing me about the decision he had made. He said that he had made the decision," Pashinyan said, noting that he has taken note of the reason for his resignation and has no comment.

Weighing in on the issue of the new presidential candidate, Pashinyan said it has not been discussed yet.

"I think we need to find solutions that bring political harmony between the president, the government and the parliamentary majority, especially now that we are facing serious challenges," Pashinyan said.
