Armenia: Opposition bloc mulling nomination of presidential candidate![]() January 25, 2022 - 15:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The opposition Armenia bloc is considering nominating a candidate for President, after Armen Sarkissian resigned from the post on Sunday, lawmaker Artsvik Minasyan from the bloc said Tuesday, January 25. Minasyan was asked about whether his team have been discussing the matter and whether they will join forces with "I Have Honor", another opposition bloc, in nominating a candidate. The MP said more information will be provided once discussions are over, Pastinfo reports. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Monday that he learned about President Armen Sarkissian's resignation several hours before a statement was published on Sunday. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
