South Caucasian Railway jointly with Georgian Railways to launch transparent tariff ratesApril 1, 2009 - 14:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - As a result of joint work of South Caucasian Railway CJSC and Georgian Railways, from Apr. 1, 2009, 20ft container transportation cost on Karmir Blur-Poti- Karmir Blur route comprises CHF 0.48 (around USD 300) per container/km, SCR SJCS Press Service reported.According to SCR CJSC Transportation Service Center Manager Ilya Kelperis, lowering of tariffs will provide the transparency of rail transit cost in using several kinds of transportation and increase railway transportations volume. South Caucasus Railways is an Armenia-based 100% branch of Russian railways public corporation. Armenian railways were transmitted into concessionary administration of South Caucasian railways in accordance with Feb. 13, 2008 concessionary agreement. The term of Concessionary agreement is 30 years with 20 years of prolongation right.
