  Parliament fails to elect new Armenia President March 3, 2022 - 10:48 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The parliament on Wednesday, March 2 failed to elect Minister of High Tech Industries Vahagn Khachaturyan as Armenia's new president. The opposition refused to take part in the vote, while the ruling Civil Contract party does not have sufficient representation, since it is necessary to gather at least 80 votes, and Civil Contract has only 71 lawmaker. In the second round, 64 votes are enough to elect the president.   Top stories Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
