Paris, Baku discuss Armenia-Azerbaijan peace talks

PanARMENIAN.Net - French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov discussed the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku over the phone on Thursday, March 14, Interfax reports citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

"During the conversation, the parties discussed the current situation in the region, including the implementation of the trilateral statements [signed between Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia]," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reportedly said.

"The French minister expressed Paris' support for the efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia."

The war in Ukraine was also on the table.

Yerevan has already asked the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship to arrange negotiations on signing a peace agreement with Baku. Prior to that, however, Bayramov revealed that they have sent a one-page proposal to Yerevan, which he said does not contain anything "out of the ordinary."
