Azerbaijan's intervention cuts gas supply in Karabakh again![]() March 22, 2022 - 11:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Gas supply to Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) was again interrupted because of the direct intervention of Azerbaijan, the NKR InfoCenter reported on Monday, March 21 evening. "We have sufficient grounds to assert that during the repair work of the gas pipeline that exploded on March 8, the Azerbaijani side has installed a valve which was used to stop gas supply," the InfoCenter said. "Azerbaijan is taking a criminal step, amid adverse weather conditions, thereby creating additional humanitarian problems for our population." The command of the Russian peacekeeping forces stationed in Artsakh has been immediately notified about the situation. Together, the authorities of Artsakh are making necessary efforts to restore gas supply. Beginning from March 8, over 100,000 residents in Karabakh were deprived of gas for over 10 days, and because the pipeline has been damaged in territories currently under Baku's control, the Azerbaijani military would not allow the Armenian side to eliminate the problem. Gas supply resumed on March 19. The Azerbaijan armed forces were also violating the ceasefire and using loudspeakers to spread panic among the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, attempting to force them to leave their homes. The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees. Friday night 8 trees were torched along the beautiful main entrance. The EU does not intend to conduct military exercises with Armenia, Lead Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Peter Stano says. Partner news |
