PanARMENIAN.Net - EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar has welcomed a speech by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as "important and forward-looking".

Pashinyan told lawmakers on Wednesday that the international community is telling Armenians again: “Lower your benchmark on the status of Nagorno Karabakh a little and ensure greater international consolidation around Armenia and Artsakh”.

"Otherwise, says the international community, please do not rely on us, not because we do not want to help you, but because we can not help you," Pashinyan said..

Klaar said later on Wednesday that many challenges remain on the road to a comprehensive settlement "but it is important to move forward.

"[Armenia] has the [European Union’s] support in the search for a just peace," Klaar tweeted.
