Russia "appreciates" Armenia's balanced position on Ukraine

Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russia appreciates Armenia's balanced position on the Ukrainian crisis, according to Denis Gonchar, the director of the Fourth Department of the CIS countries at the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We appreciate the balanced position of our Armenian and Azerbaijani colleagues on the situation around Ukraine, amid the unprecedented anti-Russian campaign of the West," Gonchar said.

"We are well aware of the pressure from foreign powers that the leaderships of Armenia and Azerbaijan are facing. We appreciate the fact that when building foreign policy Yerevan and Baku are guided, first of all, by their national interests."

In general, Armenia has managed to remain neutral two months into the war between Russia and Ukraine.
