Aliyev expects Armenian-Azerbaijani border commission to meet

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said he expects a meeting of the joint Azerbaijani-Armenian commission on border delimitation "soon", Interfax.az reports.

According to him, Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace treaty with Armenia and said that Baku was seeing steps from the Armenian side on the peace agenda.

He also maintained that steps are needed to ensure long-term and sustainable peace in the region, although Azerbaijan made an incursion into Armenian soil in March 2021 and is still refusing to withdraw its troops.

Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister met in Brussels on April 6. In the Belgian capital, the two agreed to set up a bilateral border commission by the end of April.
