Armen Proudian lands 5th at American Continental Chess Championship

PanARMENIAN.Net - Brazilian-Armenian chess master Armen Proudian has secured eight points out of the possible 11 at the XV American Continental Chess Championship in San Salvador, El Salvador.

Proudian, who represents Brazil, shared the 2nd to 8th spots but ended up in the 5th place after additional coefficients were taken into account, A1Plus reports.

Another Brazilian-Armenian chess player, Grigor-Sevak Mkhitaryan collected seven points to share the 14th-24th spots.

Timur Gareyev from the United States, meanwhile, secured 9.5 points to win the American Continental Chess Championship title.
