Azerbaijan says ready to normalize relations with Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has confirmed his country's readiness to normalize relations with Armenia, RIA Novosti reported Friday, May 13.

"The Republic of Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia, including by signing a peace treaty and starting the process of border delimitation," Bayramov said during a speech at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries in Dushanbe.

Bayramov recalled that steps were being taken to start the negotiation process on a peace agreement and the delimitation of borders between the two countries.

Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan – Ararat Mirzoyan, Sergei Lavrov and Bayramov – met on May 12 to exchange views on the unblocking of regional communications, border delimitation, and the agreement on the normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku.
