Armenia expects no grain deficit; Russia's grain exports ban liftedJune 6, 2022 - 11:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has solved all issues of grain supply from Russia as the temporary ban on the export of grain crops no longer applies to Armenia, the Ministry of Economy has said, according to Sputnik Armenia. The process of supplying grain crops to Armenia will be continued normally, the Ministry said, with no shortage expected in the near future. Throughout 2022, Armenia is planning to import 295,000 tons of wheat, 33,000 tons of barley and 68,000 tons of corn․ The country is also working to find suppliers for the import of goods that were previously being shipped from Ukraine. Armenia gets most of its imported grain supplies from Russia, as well as from Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Russia in mid-March temporarily banned grain exports to ex-Soviet countries and most sugar exports.
