MP: Armenia authorities committed to democratic reforms![]() June 8, 2022 - 18:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian authorities are committed to democratic reform process launched after the Velvet Revolution in the spring of 2018, lawmaker Ruben Rubinyan from the ruling Civil contract party told President of the Venice Commission Claire Bazy Malaurie on Wednesday, June 8. Rubinyan, who is the vice-speaker of the Armenian parliament, stressed the need for the support of the commission in that process. He attached importance to the official visit of the newly elected Chairwoman of the Venice Commission to Armenia and appreciated the effective cooperation with the structure. The two weighed in on the work of the newly established Constitutional Reform Council. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
