Armenia second most popular destination for Russians in June

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian tourists will travel to Armenia, Kazakhstan and Turkey for the long weekend in June celebrating the Day of Russia, the press service of Aviasales reports.

The service noted that Turkey traditionally tops the bookings of foreign tourist routes, accounting for 4% of all purchases with an average price tag of 43,500 rubles. According to the company, Armenia is the second most popular destination. In the coming weekend, 2.6% of travelers will fly to the country, having paid an average of 28,600 rubles for round-trip tickets. Kazakhstan is popular too – it accounts for 1.2% of all tickets with an average price of 30,500 rubles, Sputnik Armenia reports.

"This year, Russian tourists are increasingly paying attention to neighboring countries, where they used to fly mainly for non-tourist purposes," the flight booking service says.

"Users from Russia are searching for places to see and go in Kazakhstan and Armenia almost as often as in Turkey."
