Pashinyan raises Karabakh conflict at meeting with U.S. diplomat

PanARMENIAN.Net - Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried met in Yerevan on Saturday, June 18 and discussed the continuous development and expansion of Armenian-American relations.

Donfried said the US administration is working to expand and strengthen cooperation with Armenia in various areas, so support for the development of Armenia's democratic institutions will be ongoing.

The two also weighed in on the processes taking place in the South Caucasus, the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the activities of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border demarcation and border security commission.

Pashinyan stressed the key role of the U.S. as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing state and the process of comprehensive settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the co-chairmanship.

Donfried then met with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan who briefed his colleague on the current developments regarding the processes of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the unblocking of regional economic and transport communications, as well as the activities of the commission on delimitation and border security.
