Armenian soldier injured in Azerbaijan's attempted incursion into Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Azerbaijani military attempted to cross the line of contact into Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) in multiple sections in the morning of Monday, August 1, the Defense Army has said. As a result, serviceman Albert Bakhshiyan was injured.

The Armenian forces have managed to prevent the advance of the Azerbaijanis and have reported no casualties, although the situation remained tense in the evening.

The Defense Army said the Russian peacekeeping contingent deployed in Karabakh since the end of the war in 2020 has been notified.

“Although the situation remains tense, there are no ongoing skirmishes on the line of contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan,” the Defense Army said in a statement on Monday evening.

“Artsakh leadership together with the command staff of Russian PK forces are taking measures to address the situation.”
