"We regret this (the conflict - ed.) and, of course, the victims. In particular, and primarily through the influence of Russia, this conflict was contained, and I hope this will continue to be the case," Putin said. Putin also maintained that the "incident" on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan has nothing to do with Nagorno-Karabakh. The Armenian Defense Ministry said on Saturday, September 17 morning that there was no change in the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The latest round of fighting erupted in the wee hours of September 13, when Azerbaijan launched a large-scale offensive along the border, also targeting civilian settlements deep behind the frontline.
