Soldier injured on Sep 13 still in territories occupied by Azerbaijan

PanARMENIAN.Net - Serviceman Vahe Torosyan, who sustained injuries in Azerbaijan’s latest aggression against Armenia on September 13, has remained in territories occupied by Azerbaijan. According to his father, the Defense Ministry knows the soldier’s whereabouts but is unable to evacuate him.

Torosyan’s family, friends and neighbors gathered in front of the Defense Ministry to demand the soldier be evacuated.

“The ministry also knows the exact coordinates, but they say that the territory has come under the control of Azerbaijan, [they] are negotiating to be able to enter the [territory],” the serviceman’s father said.

“They said that when [they] are sure that [the Azerbaijanis] will not shoot, our representatives of the ICRC and Azerbaijan will enter [the are]. I said allow me, I will go in with my villagers and take him out.”

The latest round of fighting between the two countries began in the wee hours of September 13, when the Azerbaijani military attacked Armenian posts and shelled Armenian settlements both on the border and deep behind the frontline. More than 200 people are dead or missing as a result, the Security Council of Armenia said on Monday.
