Karabakh names billionaire philanthropist as new State Minister

PanARMENIAN.Net - President of Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Arayik Harutyunyan on Friday, November 4 signed a decree to appoint Russian-Armenian billionaire and philanthropist Rubrn Vardanyan in the post of State Minister.

With another decree, Artak Beglaryan was dismissed from the post.

Vardanyan earlier responded to the offer by Harutyunyan to accept the position of State Minister in Karabakh.

Vardanyan said on October 5 that he would be willing to accept the offer “if the approaches and decisions to be proposed have broad support.”

The businessman, who denounced Russian citizenship and moved to Karabakh in early September, said he needs to make sure that people share his vision for the future, which is why he will continue consultations in the coming days and only then make a decision.
