Golden Apricot 6th International Film Festival is due in Yerevan on Jul. 12-19April 15, 2009 - 22:35 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Golden Apricot 6th International Film Festival will launch Yerevan on Jul. 12-19. "Closed Circle" French movie starring the famous Jean Renaut, who portrays an Armenian, will open the festival. Over 300 application for participation were filed from 60 countries of the world. Competition program will feature 3 sections: Action films, Documentary films and Armenia Panorama.European cinema will be mainly represented by Polish movies retrospective, featuring works of Ezhi Skvolovski. Arabian nights programs will be continued and master classes organized. Special attention will be given to Armenian cinema. This year the Festival will host a number of jubilees including 80th anniversary of Bagrat Hovhannesyan and Arman Manaryan, 70th anniversary of Nerses Hovhannesyan. Graduate works: "Tjvjik" by Manaryan and "The Beginning" by Artavazd Peleshyan will be screened in commemoration of 90h anniversary of National Cinematography Institute. The festival will host Directors Without Boundaries 3rd Forum, Golden Apricot newspaper will be circulated to cover daily festival news.
